The series ran on NBC for nine seasons, from 1989 - 1998. Phrases such as "regifting," "yada, yada, yada," and "low talker" originated from Seinfeld episodes and made their way into the modern culture's language.
Seinfeld follows the lives of four friends living in New York City. The series is famous for being "the show about nothing." The episodes build on each other, and references to previous situations are made during many of the episodes. Elaine Benes (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) is Jerry's ex-girlfriend but remains one of his closest friends, and George Costanza (Jason Alexander) is Jerry's insecure friend from his high school days.
